Potassium Methyl Silicate

Potassium methyl silicate is primarily an alkaline aqueous solution of potassium and methylamine. It reacts with CO₂ or other acidic compounds in the air to form the active substance polymethylsilicic acid, which imparts waterproof properties. It is primarily used in mineral water repellents.

This product must be diluted with water before use. It waterproofs surfaces and reduces water absorption. It is permeable and absorbent, while maintaining the natural appearance of the substrate. It reacts with CO₂ or other acidic compounds in the air to form an insoluble, waterproof, breathable, and resilient membrane on the surface of the substrate. This membrane offers excellent waterproofing, anti-seepage, moisture-proofing, rust-resistance, anti-aging, and anti-fouling properties. It prevents water absorption into the substrate, thereby reducing flaking caused by freeze-thaw and weathering, and extending the life of the substrate. This product is simple to apply, low-cost, and offers long-lasting results. It is washable and resistant to high and low temperatures (-50°C to 150°C).
