One-component silanized polyurethane sealant is a chemical term with the property of silanized polyurethane. The main raw materials are polyether polyols, pure MDI, TDI and IPDI, Silane AMEO, Nanda-42 silane coupling agent, calcium carbonate, fumed silica, stannous octoate, and dibutyl phthalate.
MS polymer is a cross-linked polymer based on silane-terminated polyether. MS polymer-based products do not contain silicone components and solvents, nor do they contain polyurethane groups. Most formulations are odorless and environmentally friendly. The inherent elasticity of MS adhesives and sealants can absorb and compensate for dynamic loads, evenly transfer forces, and prevent premature fatigue of materials. MS-based materials can achieve bonding between a variety of substrates.
Therefore, modified silicone sealants and modified silane sealants can be said to be almost the same type of products, but different manufacturers have differences in formula and quality, and the products produced will also have performance differences. It can be understood that they are just different names. Both are MS (Modify Silicon: modified silane or modified silicone) glue. The typical feature of MS glue is that it does not require surface treatment, such as primers, and MS polymers are cross-linked or cured by continuous exposure to moisture. Moisture mainly comes from the air or the bonded substrate itself. SPUR is the abbreviation of silane-terminated polyurethane similar to MS polymers, and STP is a silane-terminated polyether (STP) containing polyurethane groups similar to MS polymers. In essence, MS, SPUR and STP are three different polymers.
MS modified silane sealant is a silicon-substituted analogue of carbon alkane with the addition of MS prepolymer, plasticizer, thixotropic agent and other fillers. The toxicity of silane is eliminated through modification. MS sealant is also called silane modified polyether sealant. Since it does not contain formaldehyde or isocyanate, it has outstanding environmental protection characteristics such as solvent-free, non-toxic and odorless, and low VOC release. It is friendly to the environment and human body; it is suitable for most building substrates, has good construction performance, adhesion, durability and weather resistance, and is especially non-polluting.
